Playing Catch-up

Hello again everyone, I guess I should bring you all up to date being that we were matched in October. Since then somethings have happened but not a whole lot because in this process you will see there is a lot of hurry up and wait. For me to be a part of this process there are somethings I had to do to make sure that I was fit to do this, Like having a meeting with a reproductive endocrinologist that will from this point on will be referred to as RE. That meeting included a physical exam and also some questions about why I had made the decision and did I truly understand what all of this entailed. After that I had another meeting with the RE to have something done called a sonohystogram, that is an ultrasound of your uterus that is filled with fluid to check for scar tissue, fibroids, etc. Can I tell you all that I have a beautiful uterus! During that visit I also had all of my testing done to make sure that I had no communicable diseases that could possibly be passed onto the little being that may be residing in there at some point. All tests were negative and we were on to the next step which was to see a phychologist to have a chat about how I may feel during this and to make sure hubby was on board with it all and how we might deal with all that was to come and I think we did well with that visit. Then comes the part where all parties have to submit paperwork to the courts, making our case as to why the IPS need a gestational surrogate and that I am able to do so,before the RE is able to prescribe any hormones. In this process the hormones are used to sync mine and the intended mothers cycles so we are about a week apart in order for the retrieval and transfer to happen when our bodies are ready. The hormones include some shots in the tummy and some oh so fun shots in the rear which can last up to 12 weeks of pregnancy to make sure that baby stays nice and comfy in there. We are very close to having the go ahead from the court so stay tuned in the next week to find out what is going to happen next. I am so very excited to get the ball rolling again and holding high hopes that my IPS will have a great gift next year for Christmas. Thanks for reading and if you have any questions or comments please don't hesitate.
